Privacy Policy

The Farmer's Herd is published by The Weekend Companies. This page explains what we collect when you read, subscribe, or join, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell or share it, and we don't run ads or tracking.

What we collect

• Newsletter: your email address and the date you signed up, plus a record of which issues were sent to you.
• Member accounts: your email address, display name, and password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form). Bio, farm name, and location are optional and only if you add them.
• Community posts: questions, answers, comments, and votes you post. Posts are public and shown under your display name.
• Abuse protection: when you sign up, sign in, post, or subscribe, we briefly record your IP address to limit spam and password guessing. These records are deleted within 24 hours.

Cookies and tracking

We set one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and our emails contain no tracking pixels.

How we use it

To send the newsletter and account emails you asked for (like password resets and replies to your posts), to run the community, and to keep the site free of spam. We don't sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or anyone else.

Who helps us run the site

The site, its database, and images are hosted by Cloudflare. Email is sent through Amazon Web Services. They process data only to provide those services to us.

Your choices

• Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• You can turn off account notification emails on your account page.
• To see, correct, or delete your information or your account, email support@thefarmersherd.com.

Children

The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
